Background: Tate was born in 1977 to Constance Langdon and Hugo Langdon. Tate was the brother of Adelaide, Beauregard, and possibly one other unidentified albino sibling. Tate reached his mental breaking point in 1. Westfield High, taking the lives of 1. Since then, Tate has resided in the house as a ghost. Like his musical idol Kurt Cobain, his disposition is primarily solemn and weary. He is an attractive, fit young man with shaggy dirty- blond hair, a square jawline, intense dark brown eyes, and a charming smile. He has a hatred for his mother, Constance, born out of her negligent parenting and the verbal abuse she constantly dealt him as a child in her drunken alcoholic rages. Despite her disapproval, Constance frequently makes excuses for him, calling him a . Tate can quickly become enraged when someone or something he cares about is threatened. To those unfamiliar with his past, Tate feigns ignorance of his current state of existence. In truth, he is aware that he is a ghost, but fears rejection if it is known, especially from his new friend Violet Harmon. He sits with Ben at their first meeting and describes symptoms of some severe psychological issues, telling Ben about fantasies he has where he 'prepares for the noble war.' In these fantasies, Tate dons black leather clothing, a skull painted on to his face and neck, and his hair is slicked back. He kills people, and has no remorse. Tate claims that he kills people he likes, and he doesn't feel anything, because he thinks he is taking them from the 'filthy goddamn horror show' that the world is to a place that is clean and kind. He asks Ben if he thinks he is crazy for these fantasies, but Ben disagrees and says Tate is merely creative and that he has heard a lot worse. He appears in her bathroom doorway and catches her using a blade to cut her wrist over the sink. He tells her that if she is trying to kill herself, she should cut vertically instead of horizontally, because . He replies that if she is trying to kill herself, she should try locking the door. Ben informs him that if he deems Tate a threat to society, he will have to report him to the police. However, he has not done so yet. Ben then tells Tate that everyone can get better, but that Tate has a lot of psychological issues he isn't dealing with. Ben suggests that one of those issues might be fear of rejection after Tate's father abandoned them. Tate tells Ben that he didn't take the medication because he was afraid his 'big dick' wouldn't work, and that he had met someone. They bond over their similarities and show each other their wrists, or the cuts on their wrists, and explain what each one was for. One of Violet's cuts was because her first day at Westfield High sucked, and Tate adds that he was kicked out of that school. They realize that they have similar dysfunctional families and have the same taste in music. Tate then writes the word . He tells her to not ask questions that she already knows the answer to. Ben appears in Violet's doorway soon after, and demands that Tate leave because it is not appropriate for him to be in Violet's bedroom. Tate then says to Ben, ? Fear of rejection? Ben demands that Violet stay away from Tate. Tate tells Violet to kill her, and that she would be doing the world a service because it would be 'one less high school bitch to worry about.' Violet does not want to kill Leah, so Tate suggests that Violet scare her instead. They devise a plan to lure Leah to Violet's house under the ruse of having cocaine to sell. Tate tells Violet to turn off the lights and the room goes dark. Tate begins to cackle as the lights flicker on and off. The monstrous Infantata pops up every few seconds, bearing black eyes, claws, and jagged teeth. Violet starts to scream with fear and the monster scratches Leah's face. Violet manages to turn the lights back on and the monster has disappeared. The two girls are alone with Tate, who is still rocking in his chair like before. Violet yells at Leah to get out, and then starts to scream at Tate, because she was very scared and confused. She tells Tate that she never wants to see him again, and he screams after her, . Tate decides to take Violet on a real date on Halloween, instead of just meeting up with her in the basement of her house. They go to the beach, where they kiss until Violet moves to have sex with him. Tate pulls back and says that he does not want to yet. A group of high school students show up, and Violet assumes that they are dressed in gore- ridden prosthetics and clothing. The students act as if they know Tate, asking him 'why he did it'. Tate acts as if he has no idea what the people are talking about. He accuses them of being rowdy high school jerks out to cause trouble, and leaves with Violet. The high school kids had followed them back to the house. Violet grabs a pair of scissors and goes outside to confront them. Tate emerges from the house and the students chase him back to the beach where they first confronted him. They continually ask him why he did 'it' - 'it' being, killing them. One girl, a cheerleader, says that she should be in her 3. Tate she is dead and stuck in her current form forever. Tate still claims to not know what they are speaking of, asking why he would do something like that. She finds a picture of Tate, and an article speaking of how he killed 1. Westfield High in 1. Violet stumbles upon a website that states that Tate was killed by the S. W. A. T. Violet makes a trip to the high school and asks the librarian that survived the shooting about Tate. Violet is desperate to know why he killed those children, saying that good people didn't just start shooting people. The librarian informs her that maybe Tate wasn't a good person. She enters her bedroom and sees that he has written, . Violet begins to sob. She takes her water bottle and swallows a large amount of sleeping pills in an attempt to kill herself. She begins to cough and throw up, and then starts to cry because of what has happened. Violet dies in Tate's arms and returns as a ghost, unaware of her own death. Tate hides her corpse in the crawlspace of the house so that Violet won't realize that she overdosed that day. Tate knows that ghosts cannot leave the premises and will eventually realize that she died when she attempts to leave. He decides that the best way for Violet to cope with being a ghost is if she makes the decision to die herself. Tate suggests that Violet should overdose on pills so she could be with him forever, . After various attempts to leave the house, she is dismayed to realize that each time she leaves, she comes right back into the house somehow. Tate then tells a confused and hopeless Violet that he needs to show her something, and he leads her beneath the house into a crawl space, where her rotting body has been hidden. Violet becomes overcome with sadness when she finds out that she is dead, and Tate tries comforting her by saying that although she died crying, she died safe and loved. Tate has guaranteed that he will give her one. Although he failed with the house's former owners, Tate was able to trick Vivien into thinking he was her husband. He raped and impregnated her. Nora later asks for her baby, but Tate refuses because he is now in love with Violet. He says that he can't give Nora the baby, because the baby is Violet's brother. Nora is insistent and she informs Tate that she will still take the child for herself. Violet immediately confronted Tate, asking about all of the horrible things he had done. She tells him that she thought he was like her, attracted to the darkness. She says that she has since worked out that Tate is the darkness itself. Violet says that she loves him, but that she cannot forgive him. Violet tells him to go away. Tate is overwrought and begins shouting ! You're all I have! Violet seems happy, until she meets eyes with Tate, and her smile falters. Hayden tells Tate to give up, but he says that he will wait forever for Violet to forgive him if he has to. I'm calm, I know the secret. I know what's coming and I know no one can stop me, not even myself. I kill people I like. Some of them beg for their life. I don't feel sad. I don't feel anything. It's a filthy world we live in. It's a filthy goddamn helpless world, and honestly, I feel like I'm helping to take them away from the shit, and the piss, and the vomit that run through the streets. I'm helping to take them to somewhere clean, and kind. There's something about all that blood man. I drown in it. They can’t stitch that up. And if you're trying to kill yourself, you might also try locking the door. You're distant, cold. I don't know what I've done, but I'll leave you alone from now on if that's what you want. Is that what you want? You know why I'd leave you alone? Because I care about your feelings more than mine. There, I said it, not just on some chalkboard. I would never let anybody or anything hurt you. I've never felt that way about anyone.. Alice: Madness Returns - Wikipedia. Alice: Madness Returns is a psychological horroraction- adventureplatformvideo game developed by Chinese studio Spicy Horse with a development budget of $9 million. It is the sequel to the 2. American Mc. Gee's Alice. The game was released worldwide beginning in North America on June 1. Alice was discharged from a psychiatric clinic and now lives in an orphanage for mentally traumatized orphans under the care of Dr. Angus Bumby. To get rid of the trauma and learn the truth about her past, she once again falls into Wonderland, where a new evil force has corrupted it. As of 2. 01. 6 players who bought the retail disc version of the games can download a port of the original American Mc. Gee's Alice for free from PSN and Xbox Live with trophy and achievement support. Gameplay. The player controls Alice for the entirety of the game for running, jumping, dodging and attacking. In combat, Alice gains a small number of weapons that can be utilized in several ways. Her primary weapon is the Vorpal Blade, a decorated kitchen knife. The remainder of her arsenal is somewhat akin to the benign and mundane items that take on a deadly quality in Alice's tainted Wonderland in the first game. The Pepper Grinder becomes a crank operated gatling gun, used to attack at a distance and pepper pig snouts. The Hobby Horse is used as a sledgehammer to inflict heavy damage and break barriers and defenses. The Teapot Cannon fires tea sieves that explode to cause heavy damage and, like the Hobby Horse, break barriers. By collecting teeth that are dropped by foes or found scattered about the levels, the player can upgrade these items to more powerful versions. Two other weapons cannot be upgraded, primarily because they are more defensive than directly offensive: the Umbrella acts as a shield that can be used to deflect and reflect most incoming projectiles; The Clockwork Bomb is a time- delayed/remote- controlled rabbit alarm clock that does a minimal amount of damage to enemies, but its usefulness is better illustrated as a decoy, as well as a weight to keep switches temporarily depressed. Alice's health is tracked by a number of rose petals. Should Alice's health fall to zero during game play, the player is forced to start at the most recent checkpoint. Falling off platforms into bottomless pits or dangerous liquids do not damage Alice but restart her at a nearby platform. The game also introduces Hysteria, which can be used when Alice's health is very low, and it can only be used for a limited amount of time. While working each level, the player can discover various secrets. A primary mechanic is to use Alice's shrinking potion to reduce in size, allowing her to walk through small spaces like keyholes, but also reveals invisible platforms and surfaces; after returning to normal size, these platforms slowly fade back to invisibility, requiring the player to remember their location. Pig's snouts, which make noise when the player is close, can be struck with the pepper grinder to reveal new paths. Radula rooms provide a short challenge to the player, which on completion grants a jar of paint; obtaining four jars earns the player another rose for Alice's health. Memories can be picked up that provide voiceovers revealing parts of the game's backstory. Upon completion, the player can start a new game plus, letting them play through the game again but keeping all their weapons and upgrades from the previous attempt. From the menu, the player can also review the memories that they have found within the game. Within events of the prequel, Alice Liddell, believing herself responsible for a fire that consumed her home and her family, escapes into a twisted version of Wonderland. While held at Rutledge Asylum for treatment, Alice was able to conquer her doubts, and eventually was released from the ward. Alice II takes place in 1. Alice's release. Angus Bumby, a psychiatrist who uses hypnosis to help his child patients forget their memories. Though she believes that she is fine, Alice still suffers from hallucinations of Wonderland. During an errand, Alice is struck by a hallucination and believes herself to be in Wonderland again. Though initially idyllic, the peaceful land quickly becomes corrupted by the Infernal Train that rampages through it, leaving behind the Ruin, a force that attempts to stop Alice. Alice meets with the Cheshire Cat who affirms that it is some outside force, not Alice, that has caused this corruption, and urges her to seek out former friend and foe to discover the source of the Train. Throughout the rest of the game, Alice briefly returns to reality between episodes occurring within Wonderland. In the real world, Alice learns from the family lawyer that her sister, Elizabeth (nicknamed . She is ultimately told that the Queen of Hearts still lives despite her defeat at Alice's hands before, though in diminished capacity. At the Queen's castle, Alice discovers the Queen's true form, which resembles her younger self. The Queen reveals that an entity called the Dollmaker has taken over the Infernal Train and is corrupting Wonderland. Returning to London, Alice starts to recall her memories of the night of the fire, and realizes that Dr. Bumby was there. He is responsible for the death of her sister and her whole family. She comes to the conclusion that Dr. Bumby is attempting to erase the memories of the fire from her mind and, as he has done with other children, trying to leave her as a . Furious, Alice confronts both Dr. Bumby in the real world at the Moorgate station and Dr. Bumby's Wonderland counterpart, the Dollmaker, in her fantasy on the Infernal Train. Bumby admits to his crimes, and even attests to setting Alice's home on fire after Lizzie refused his advances, removing any witnesses. He points out that by wiping out her Wonderland, he will make her forget the events of that night, while he will continue as a member of high society. Alice defeats the Dollmaker in Wonderland, giving her the strength in the real world and in her mind to push Dr. Bumby into the path of an oncoming train, killing him. As Alice leaves the station, she finds herself in a hybrid vision of London mixed with Wonderland, Londerland. Alice wanders into the unknown terrain as the Cheshire Cat monologues that Alice has found the truth that was . As the development of the movie adaptation of American Mc. The window begins to burn and the silhouette of the Queen of Hearts appears before it explodes in flames, and the Queen's tentacles drag Alice into the inferno. Like the previous trailer, it ends with a voice saying . Alice finds herself sitting at a tea party with the Mad Hatter, March Hare and Dormouse.
